This 25 Days East African Holiday Safari : is basically a combined safari to Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania. Actually, these countries have rich diversity of wildlife, colorful nature, beautiful people as well as rich culture. While on your safari, you will visit different East Africa’s tourist destinations. Some of these include; Akagera National Park, Murchison Falls National Park, Kibale National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will also visit Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, Lake Naivasha National Park, Nakuru National Park, Serengeti National Park etc. During this safari, you will also carry out different activities not forgetting the attractions that will leave you with great memories.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival-transfer to the hotel
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be picked by one of our representatives. Later you will transferred you to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Genocide Memorial Visit-Transfer to Akagera National Park-Boat Cruise
After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to Kigali for a visit to the Gisozi genocide memorial site. Here, you will be told stories about the terrifying memories of the 1994 survivors. As a matter of fact, this is one of the most horrific disasters the world has ever known. During this period, the Hutu massacred thousands of Tutsi in less than 100 days.
Later you will transfer to Akagera National Park having your first stopover in Nyakarambi village. Here, you will be able to see the local women make fine looking Imigongo paintings using cow dung. Afterwards, you will proceed with your journey to the park, check in your lodge for lunch. Later, set off to Lake Ihema for an exciting boat ride. During this activity, you will come across different water bird species plus different aquatic animals like the crocodiles and hippos. Later head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Morning game drive-Evening game drive
You will have an early breakfast before setting out for morning game drive to look out for the early risers as they search for food. Afterwards, head back to the lodge for lunch and later have another opportunity of an evening game drive in the park. While here, look out for animals that you might have missed out during the morning drive. Among the commonly seen animals here include; elephants, zebras, topis, oribis, waterbucks, bush bucks, giraffes, elands etc. Later, return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Morning game drive-Transfer back to Kigali
Having your early breakfast, you will enjoy one more game drive in Akagera National Park. Here, you will search for different animals like Elephants, Buffaloes, Giraffes, Water bucks and many more. Besides, the park is also an habitant for different bird species. It hosts over 500 of them and making it a birder’s haven. Later you will be transferred to Kigali having lunch on the way.

Day 5: Travel to Volcanoes National Park-Visit the Dian Fossey Center-Cultural village tour
After breakfast, you will be transferred northwards to Volcanoes National Park and upon arrival you will visit the Dian Fossey Center. Dian Fossey was basically a zoologist best known for researching the endangered gorillas of the Rwanda from the 1960s to the 1980s. Tragically, on December 26, 1985, Fossey was found hacked to death, presumably by poachers, at her Rwandan forest camp. Afterwards, in the evening you will visit the Iby’iwacu Cultural Village to have a taste of the history and culture of Rwanda. In fact, some of the members of this cultural village are former poachers who depended on the forest for survival. Besides, you will be entertained by their folk songs and dances so feel free to engage in some of the activities.

Day 6: Golden monkey trekking-Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
After breakfast, you will assemble at the park headquarters for a briefing in the morning. Together with your trekking gears and drinking water, you will later ascend in the forest to track the golden monkeys. During this activity, you get to find out the interesting facts about these golden monkeys making your safari tour interesting. After lunch, you will be transferred to Uganda direct to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. As a matter of fact, this park is famous for the mountain gorillas. You will check in your lodge for dinner and overnight stay as you prepare for the next days’ activity.

Day 7: Gorilla trekking-Batwa cultural encounter
After your early morning breakfast, you will be driven to the park headquarters. Before setting off to the forest, you will be briefed by the park rangers about the dos and don’ts while trekking. Later, hit the forest and start off the trekking guided by the rangers. Upon locating one of the gorilla family, you will spend 1 hour in their presence, taking photos, watching them feed etc.
Afterwards, you will head back to the park headquarters where you will be awarded with a gorilla trekking certificate. Later, return to the lodge for lunch and a power nap. In the evening you will go for the Batwa cultural experience (native culture in the forest). While here, you will get exposed to their culture & norms; dance, lifestyle as well as storytelling. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Have your breakfast, thereafter check out of the lodge and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. It is generally the second deepest Lake in Africa after Tanganyika in Tanzania. Furthermore, it is famous for its lush green terraced hills, legendary Islands as well as its impressive population of over 200 bird species. More so, the Lake is one of the few lakes in Uganda that is Bilharzia free. Therefore, making its water safe for swimming and it’s also free of dangerous wildlife like hippos and crocodiles. You will check in the lodge and later you can decide to relax in the lodge or go for swimming.

Day 9: Canoeing at Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast, you will head for a canoe ride on the lake. Generally, the Lake has 29 Islands which were basically named according to the different bird species found on the Island. Besides, some were named for different reasons for example the Punishment Island. This is the smallest and was used by the Bakiga people to drop their girls who got pregnant before marriage. While here you will also learn a lot about the people that inhabit the Islands. Later return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park-Evening game drive
Having your breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Additionally, this is one of Uganda’s most popular tourist destination famous for the tree climbing lions. Upon arrival, you will check in the lodge, have lunch as you prepare for an evening game drive. During the game drive you will look out for different animals like the elephants, buffaloes as well as the big cats since they usually hunt as the day dawns. You will later head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 11: Morning game drive-Boat cruise
On this day you will have an early morning breakfast and head to Kasenyi plains for a game drive. While here, look out for different animals like lions, buffalos, hyenas, leopards, elephants, striped jackals etc depending on your luck of the day. You will return to the lodge for lunch and later go for a boat cruise on Kazinga channel. In fact, this is one of the largest collection of hippos in Africa and connects Lake Goerge and Edward. While here, also prepare for a treat as you spot giant hippos, crocodiles, water birds and some animals spotted as they quench their thirst by the water channel. Later you will head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 12: Visit Crater lakes-Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru Caves-Transfer to Kibale National Park
After your breakfast, you will be driven to Fort Portal, the capital of Tooro Kingdom. Upon arrival, you will check in your lodge as well as have your lunch. Afterwards, you will visit the Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru Caves and the three surrounding Explosion Crater Lakes. A side-trip to these Caves and the three nearby Crater Lakes will be a time of hiking, learning about the local culture as well as the legends. Later you will transfer to Kibale Forest National Park, check in your lodge for dinner and overnight stay

Day 13: Chimpanzee Tracking-Visit Bigodi wetland
After your early morning breakfast, you will head to the headquarters. While here, you will be briefed about the dos and don’ts before going for your chimpanzee tracking activity. Kibale forest national park generally hosts the highest number of primates in the whole of East Africa. After the briefing, you will be led into the forest by your ranger of the day. Upon locating these chimpanzees, you will be given one hour in their presence as you enjoy their daily activities.
Therefore, don’t forget to take pictures and videos of these great moments for remembrance. Later in the evening, you will head for a nature walk in Bigodi wetland sanctuary. While here, you will enjoy walking through different trails as you have beautiful views of different birds, primates as well as tree species. Later check in your booked accommodation for lunch, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 14: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park-Hiking the Top of the falls
After your morning breakfast, you will start off your journey to the magnificent Murchison Falls National Park. Additionally, it is Uganda’s largest national park with lots of natural wonders. As you enter the park, you will start with your first activity which is a walk to the top of the falls. Here, the Victoria Nile water makes its way through a narrow gorge making a thunderous sound pouring downstream in the Albert Nile. Since this place is good for memorable pictures, be ready to take as many photos and videos for memories. Later you will check in your lodge for lunch, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 15: Morning game drive-Boat Cruise-Evening game drive
Having your early morning breakfast, you will go for a morning game drive with your packed lunch. While here, it will be a great time as you look out for various animal species. These include; buffalos, elephants, giraffes, lions, antelopes, oribis, Jackson’s hartebeest, spotted hyenas etc. On top of that, the park has got different bird species like the hornbills, bishops, swallows and much more. After the game drive, you will be driven direct to the dock in preparation for an afternoon boat cruise.
Later you will set off for your boat adventure and while on the cruise, you will be able to view different water animals. These include; the crocodiles, hippos and some other animals at the banks of the river as they quench their thirst. Also expect to see different bird species like the red-throated bee-eaters, kingfishers, martial eagles etc. Feel free to take photos and videos as you enjoy the wildlife on water. However, don’t forget to pack some snacks and drinks to enjoy while on this adventurous 3 hour’s boat cruise. Later you will head back for an evening game drive looking out for more animals that you would have missed out during your morning game drive. Head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay. You will later head back to your lodge for accommodation.

Day 16: Depart Murchison Falls National Park-Rhino Tracking-Transfer to Kampala
Early morning after breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and start on your journey to Ziwa rhino sanctuary. In fact, this is the only place in Uganda where you are able to do rhino tracking. While here, you will be able to do your on-foot rhino tracking and the time taken depends on their location. Later you will embark on your journey to Kampala.

Day 17: Transfer to Kenya
You will have your early morning breakfast and later start on your journey to Nairobi. You will arrive late evening and check in direct to your hotel.

Day 18: Travel to Lake Naivasha-Boat Cruise
Early in the morning have breakfast, check out and leave for Lake Naivasha National Park. Upon arrival, you will check in at your lodge, then head for an evening boat ride. Lake Naivasha Park is arguable one of the main attractions in Kenya because of its gateway to variety of wildlife. In addition, taking a boat excursion will give you spectacular views of; Flamingoes, Hippos and Fish eagles.

Day 19: Depart Nairobi-Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park-Evening game drive
After having breakfast, you will be transferred to Lake Nakuru National Park. Upon arrival, check in you lodge, have lunch and later head out for an evening game drive. Besides, this park is famous for its flamingo’s and the over 400 species of birds found here. Additionally, the lake itself is a soda lake on the floor of the rift valley and from a distance, it appears ringed in pink. The park has also earned a reputation as an important haven for endangered species. These include; the Rothchild giraffe, black and white rhinos, lions, water bucks and buffalos are all residents. Later head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 20: Transfer to Masai Mara-Maasai culture
After your morning breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and continue with your journey to Masai Mara National Reserve. You will arrive at your lodge in time for lunch, check in as you prepare for a culture experience. Later in the afternoon, visit the local Maasai village for a cultural tour. While here, you will learn about the Maasai community as well as interact with the local Maasai people. Feel free to participate their dances, songs and daily activities. You can also buy some souvenirs to take back home for remembrance.

Day 21: Masai Mara-Full day game drive
After your breakfast you will go for a full day game drive in Masai Mara Game Reserve. As a matter of fact, the reserve is famously known for the annual great migration of wildebeest and zebras in July to October. While here, you will enjoy several wild animals at close encounters for a great African safari memory.
Enjoy the game drive till late evening, in search of the big five. These include; lions, leopards, rhinos, buffalos as well as elephants. In addition, you are able to spot other wildlife such as Zebras, Topis, cheetahs, reedbucks, waterbucks, spotted hyenas etc. Later, exit the reserve and drive to the campsite for an optional activity. Visit the local community, take a nature walk with Masai warriors or just relax at the camp.

Day 22: Morning game drive-Transfer to Serengeti-Evening game drive
Early morning, you will check out of your lodge for the final game drive in Masai Mara Game Reserve. Witness the sunrise while in the wilderness, and track the African wildlife as the prey graze and predators hunt the prey. Later return to the campsite for a full breakfast, check out and leave Masai Mara with packed lunch to Serengeti. Serengeti National Park is generally Tanzania’s largest and famous park. In addition, the park is famous for its massive migration of wildebeest and zebras from November to late June each year. While here, you will enjoy an evening game drive as you transverse this park in search for different animals. These include; Lions, Elephants, Zebras, Wildebeest, Hyenas, Antelopes, Elands, Gazelles, Cheetah, Leopard, Buffalos etc. Later, check in your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 23: Full day game drive
After an early morning breakfast, with your packed lunch, you will head for a full day game drive. Interestingly, you will spend the entire day doing game drives in the vast Serengeti National Park. In fact you will be amazed with the range of wildlife from the lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, black rhinos, and a variety of flora and fauna. Later you will head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 24: Transfer to Ngorongoro crater
After an early breakfast, you will have your packed lunch and later be transferred to Ngorongoro crater. This is generally the largest inactive caldera and here you will have a game viewing of different wildlife. Later in the afternoon you will be driven to Arusha town with an option of doing some shopping. Besides, Arusha is well known as the coffee producing area.
