2 Days Best of Lake Mburo Park Safari
This 2 Days Best of Lake Mburo Park Safari : takes you to one of the smallest Parks in Uganda with several mammal species not easily observed elsewhere in the country. The park also supports Uganda’s only remaining population of impala, the handsome antelope for which Kampala is named. Additionally, it is one of only two national parks where Burchell’s zebra occurs. The Park also harbors over 68 mammal species and over 315 bird species. You will start your journey with a stopover at the equator line, where you will be able to carry out different equator experiences. You will later head to Lake Mburo National Park for your game drive and boat cruise.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Visit the Equator-Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park-Boat cruise
You will be picked by one of our drivers, brief you about the safari then later start on your journey to Lake Mburo National Park. You will have your first stopover at the Uganda Equator line for the equator experiments, photography and refreshment break. Later, you will continue with your journey the Park. Upon arrival, you will check in direct to your lodge for lunch as you prepare for an evening boat cruise. While at the boat cruise, you will have a chance to see stunning aquatic wildlife. These include; hippos, crocodiles, monitor lizards and birdlife like the kingfishers, herons, egrets, storks, etc. Afterwards, you will head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning Game drive-Transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe
After your breakfast, you will check out of your lodge then head for a morning game drive through the trails viewing different animal species. Some of these include; zebras, impalas, elands, topis, oribis, impalas, defassa waterbucks, reedbucks, leopard (although not easy to spot) hyenas, etc. Later you exit the park and start on your journey back to Kampala/Entebbe.

When to visit Lake Mburo National Park
Lake Mburo National Park is open year-round, although the dry seasons from June to August and December to February are the best time. During this time, animals gather around the lake and other water sources. Besides, the park can be visited in the wet seasons from March to May and from September to November.

Rubanga Forest
This forest provides a variety of habitats, which are great for birds thereby making it a special forest for bird watchers. There are over 40 species of birds recorded in Rubanga, 5 of which are forest “specialists”. Birds found here include the Shoebill Stork, harrier hawk, green pigeon, narina trogn, Grey-backed cameroptera and double-toothed barbet.
Salt Lick
You can take a guided walk with an armed ranger to the salt lick and observe animals licking the salty soil found there.
Horseback safaris
This activity was introduced by one of the lodges around (Muhingo Lodge) which is a great opportunity to get close to animals such as zebra and buffalo which are far more relaxed around horses than around cars. Rides are tailored to individual experience and requirements. Day rates vary from $40-60 per person for 30-60 minutes and $300 for a full day hack to various hilltop viewpoints with a picnic breakfast and bush lunch.
Guided night drives
Night drives come with a 30-40% chance of seeing leopards, which are often quite relaxed around vehicles while packs of up to 20 hyena are regularly observed.
