6 Days Uganda Birding Safari
This 6 Days Uganda Birding Safari : takes you to Semliki National Park which is one of the top birding destinations in Uganda with over 441 recorded species. More so, there are 46 Guinea-Congo biome bird species which cannot be found anywhere else in East Africa. You will also do birding in Kibale national park also having some birding spots with different bird species. Then conclude with Lake Mburo national park; best for water as well as acacia associated birds.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival Entebbe Airport
Upon arrival at the airport, you will be warmly welcomed by one of our representative from Great Nest Image Safaris . Later, you will be transferred to your booked hotel. Depending on the your time of arrival, you may decide to visit Uganda Wildlife Education Centre, Entebbe botanical gardens or craft shops around.

Day 2: Transfer to Semuliki National Park
After having breakfast, you will be transferred to Semuliki National Park. You will check in direct in your lodge however, you may choose to do some birding in the evening depending on the time of arrival. Dinner and overnight stat at your lodge.

Day 3: Birding in Semuliki National Park-Transfer to Kibale National Park
Today morning is basically dedicated for birding. Note that, you will carry packed lunch and head for a full day birding in the forest. You will have chance of birding on the main road or one of the trails in the forest. Birds to spot include; Orange cheeked waxbill, White throated blue swallow, Black wattle hornbill, Emerald cuckoo. Purple-headed starling, Black-billed turaco, Yellow-billed barbet, Grey-throated barbet among out countless bird species. Later after lunch, you will transfer to Kibale national park. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 4: Birding in Kibale national park
After your morning breakfast, you may choose to go to Bigodi Wetland or take one of the trails in the Park. While here, look out for the stunning Green-breasted pitta, Fire-crested Alethe. Papyrus gonolek, Dusky crimson-wing Black bee eater, Brown throated wattle eye, etc. However, you will also come across colorful butterflies and some primate species. Later, return for lunch at the lodge and afterwards, proceed to Lake Mburo National Park arriving late evening. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

Day 5: Birding in Lake Mburo National Park
After an early morning breakfast, you will go for a nature walk guided by the park ranger. Lake Mburo National Park is basically the only park where you can experience a safari on foot. Furthermore, this the nearest park to the capital Kampala. While here, you will encounter many bird species of wetland and as well as savannah birds. Birds to spot here include; Coqui francolin, Bateleur, Bare-faced go-away bird. Green wood hoopoe, Red faced barbet, White headed barbet, Yellow breasted apalis, not to mention but a few. Also look out for the elusive leopard and other nocturnal species. Dinner and overnight stay at the Lodge.

Day 6: Depart Lake Mburo national park-Transfer to Entebbe
On your way out of the park, you will go birding along the Lakeside Track. This generally gives a you the chance to spot some water birds. These include; the lesser and Great swamp warbler, White winged warbler, Papyrus gonolek, Papyrus yellow warbler etc. Later, embark on your journey with lunch en route and a stop at the equator for photography and refreshments. for photos and some shopping. You will continue to Kampala/Entebbe where you will be dropped at the airport for your flight home or at your hotel.
