6 Days Uganda Gorilla and Wildlife Safari
This 6 Days Uganda Gorilla and Wildlife Safari: takes you for gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and to Murchison Falls National Park. Murchison Falls National Park, is generally Uganda’s largest protected area and home to a wide range of flora and fauna. The park is also one of the most exciting to track animals, bird watching as well as primate watching. Furthermore, the trip takes you through the Albertine Rift to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home to more than half of the remaining total population of the mountain gorillas. However, Bwindi also hosts over 350 bird species, different primates as well as tree species.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Depart Kampala/Entebbe-Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary-Murchison Falls National Park-Top of the Falls
After breakfast, you will be picked up by one of our representatives from Great Nest Image Safaris and thereafter you will transfer to the magnificent Murchison Falls National Park. Additionally, this is Uganda’s largest national park with lots of natural wonders. You will start up your journey to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking, a large preserve where Rhinos are bred. Your next stop will be in Masindi town for lunch and thereafter proceed to the Park.
As you enter the park you will go to the top of the falls that make Murchison Falls National Park so famous. Besides, this is a place for most memorable pictures and taking in of the sounds and sights, including the rainbow that does not disappear, created by the mist of the falls. The top of the fall is spectacular, and being so close to the falls and seeing the splendor from the top is such a wonderful experience. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive-Boat cruise
After an early morning breakfast, you will set off for an early morning game drive across the savannah, along Lake Albert Delta. However, what you will see, sense and feel around cannot be replicated anywhere else in the world, this is Murchison Falls with its birds, Lions, elephants, hippos, buffaloes, warthogs, giraffes etc.
Later you will head to the dock where you will enjoy your packed lunch and thereafter you will go for your boat cruise. This will take around 3 hours and while on the cruise so don’t forget to pack some snacks and drinks to enjoy while on water. While here, you will spot different animals like the crocodiles, hippos, elephants, different bird species like kingfishers, herons, etc. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 3: Depart Murchison Falls-Transfer to Fort portal
After having your morning breakfast, you will be transferred to Fort portal town with spectacular views of the rift valley. You can either decided to relax around your lodge or tour around the town. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
You will have an early breakfast then transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park with lunch on the way. Since it will be a long journey, you will head straight to your reserved accommodation, have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking-Batwa Experience
You will have your early morning breakfast, then drive to the park headquarters where you will be briefed by the park rangers about dos and don’ts while trekking in the park. You will also be divided in a group of 8 individuals and later, start off your gorilla trekking.
Basically, this is a memorable and an amazing experience watching the Mountain gorillas feed as well as play around. However, the time taken and the terrain vary with the movements of these great primates. Once you have located a gorilla group, you will be allowed an hour in their presence. Later, you will return to your lodge and in the evening visit the Batwa community which will expose you to their culture basing on how they live and dance. Besides, listening to stories concerning their culture which will leave you amazed. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 6: Transfer back to Entebbe/Kampala
After an early breakfast, you will check out of your lodge and start your journey back to Entebbe/Kampala passing through rolling hills with terraces. You will have lunch in Mbarara town then continue to Entebbe/Kampala arriving late afternoon.

Chimpanzee tracking in Budongo Forest -Kaniyo Pabidi Forests
Kaniyo Pabidi supports two chimpanzee communities, each estimated to a number of around 90 individuals. As a matter of fact, the one closest to Budongo Eco Lodge has been habituated for tourist visits since the late 1990s. This tracking consists of six guided groups, each comprising up to three people at 08:00 then at 14:00. Additionally, a full day habituation experience allowing up to two people starts a minimum of 6 hours starting at 07:00. Chimpanzee tracking for half day costs US$85 per person while habituation costs UD$155 per person.
- Birding
Generally, Kaniyo Pabidi protests a similar range of species to Budongo Forest. However, the best place to look for birds is around the lodge, especially the gallery forest along the main road which offers good views. Birds include; Narina trogon, dwarf and pygmy kingfishers, hornbills, common shrike-flycatcher, sun birds, chestnut wattle-eye etc. A local specialty is Puvel’s illadopsis which is quite common in Kaniyo Pabidi, but known from no other locality in East Africa. Birding half day costs UD$20 per person while full day costs UD$35 Per person.
