4 Days Birding Safari
This 4 Days Birding Safari : takes you to some of the Uganda birding spots, harboring different beautiful bird species. The safari will first take you to Entebbe Botanical Gardens that hosts a variety of wetland and woodland bird species. The birding safari will continue to Mabamba swamp also identified as an important Birding Area. As a matter of fact, it is renowned for hosting the rare shoebill as well as different bird species. The birding safari will conclude with Mabira forest, with over 315 bird species.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival-Transfer to Hotel
You will be warmly received by a representative of Great Nest Image Safaris. Later, you will be transferred you to your hotel in Entebbe. Depending on the time of arrive, you may decide to visit the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre, do a city tour or relax at your lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at your booked lodge.

Day 2: Birding in Entebbe Botanical Gardens
Early in the morning after breakfast, you will be picked by our representative from your lodge. You will be briefed by the guide then later start on your birding, looking out for different bird species. The Gardens has got over 150 bird species which include woodland as well as water birds. Some of the birds to spot include; Bare faced go away bird, Great blue and Ross’s turacos. Red chested sunbird, Great reed warbler, Fin tailed widow bird, Malachite, Woodland and Pygmy Kingfishers. Black bishop, Grey woodpecker, Superb starling, Black and white casqued hornbill etc. Later, return to your lodge for lunch, however, you can decided to do a city tour or relax at your lodge.

Day 3: Birding in Mabamba swamp
After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to the dock where you will take a boat ride to Mabamba swamp. While here, expect to look out for different bird species. These include; Papyrus gonolek, White shouldered tit, Western banded snake eagle, White winged warbler. Shoebill stork, Grey herons, African Jacanas, Squaco heron, Purple and Goliath heron. Pallid Harrier and Blue Swallow a migrant species, a Variety of egrets, ducks etc. Here, you may also have a chance to encounter the elusive sitatunga Antelope, adapted to swampy habitants.

Day 4: Full day birding in Mabria forest-Transfer to Entebbe/Kampala
Early morning breakfast, you will be transferred Mabira Forest which is about an hours’ drive from Kampala. Upon arrival, you will be briefed and later hit the forest in search of different bird species. These include; Grey spotted woodpecker, Red headed blue bill, Purple headed starling, Toro greenbul. Yellow whiskered greenbul, White spotted fluff tail, Yellow spotted barbet, Grey throated barbet. Yellow rumped tinker bird, Yellow throated tinker bird, Blue breasted kingfisher, Woodland kingfishers, Red tailed ant thrush. Chin spot batis, Banded wattle eye, Chestnut wattle eye, Red headed malimbe, Violet backed starling etc. You will have lunch and later start on your journey back to Entebbe/Kampala to catch up your flight back home of check in your lodge.
