3 Days Queen Elizabeth Uganda Wildlife Safari
This 3 Days Queen Elizabeth Uganda Wildlife Safari: also known as “medley of wonders” will take you to Uganda’s most visited Park. Additionally, it is classified with various ecosystems such as the dazzling lakes, kazinga channel, extensive savannah, humid forests as well as lush wetlands. More so, the park is a home to over 100 mammal species and here you will be in line to see big numbers of antelopes, crocodiles, hippos, elephants, buffaloes, among others. These can be seen during game drives and on a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel which bisects the park. The park is also a home to the tree climbing lions that are found in the Ishasha Sector. In addition, the park contains over 600 bird species making it a must visit destination for birders to Uganda. Here, migratory birds are seen from November to April however birds can be seen throughout the year.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Depart Entebbe/Kampala-Equator Experience-Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, you will be picked up by one of our representatives from Great Nest Image Safaris then start on your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Along the way, you will have stopover at the Equator, here you will have refreshments as well as take some photographs. Later you will have another stopover in Mbarara town for lunch.
Thereafter you will proceed to the Park as you drive through the spectacular landscape characterized with open grasslands, tea plantations, Ankole log horned cattle, the Rift valley Escarpment and various woodlands. Upon arrival, you will check in your journey for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning Game drive-Boat cruise
Early in the morning you will have your breakfast, then after proceed for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains. While here, be on the lookout for Cape buffalos, herds of elephants plus the big cats: lions, leopard (not easy to spot) among others. Return to the lodge for some rest and lunch.
After lunch, you will go for a 3 hour boat trip on the Kazinga Channel that connects Lakes George and Edward. During the trip, the sight of wildlife including giant hippos, elephants and crocodiles among others will fascinate you. You will also be able to spot out different species of birds at the water shores. You will have dinner and overnight at your accommodation.

Day 3: Departure to Entebbe/Kampala
After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge, and start on your journey back. You will have your lunch then after proceed with journey to Entebbe/Kampala where you will reach late in the evening.

Optional activities
Chimpanzee tracking
The only habituated chimpanzee community in Queen Elizabeth National Park inhabits an isolated strip of riparian forest in the 100m deep Kyambura River Gorge. This runs for 16km on the park’s eastern boundary with quite easy to locate the chimps by sound. Once you’ve found them, they can usually be approached quite closely. However, guided chimp-tracking excursions depart twice-daily and permits cost US$50 inclusive of the guide but excluding the park entrance fee.
Lion tracking
Lion tracking generally involves learning much more about the habits of the king of the wild in natural plains of kasenyi within the national park. Here, lions with radio collars are tracked by a researcher who use the radiation trackers to monitor the movement of the lions with the radio collars. As a matter of fact this activity is one of the most interesting experimental tourism activities in Uganda.
However, limited numbers of participants are allowed to a natural habitat. This means if you are to join the team you have to book in advance in order to spare a place. Besides, this activity lasts for 2-3 days and only twice a day; in the morning around 8am and late afternoon. The coast of a lion permit authorized by Uganda wildlife authority is US$60 for international tourists and UGX 100,000 for the members of the East African Community.
Birding
The park contains of over 600 bird species making it a must visit destination for birder to Uganda. Above all, migratory birds are seen from November to April however birds can be seen throughout the year. Hot spots for the best birding in Queen Elizabeth National Park include; Kazinga Channel, Kasenyi Area, Mweya Peninsula, Maramagambo Forest, Ishasha Sector, Lake Kikorongo, Katunguru Bridge area and Katwe Area. Bird species include; the Shoebill, Martial Eagle, Black rumped Buttonquail, African Skimmer, Verreaux’s Eagle-Owl, Black bee-Eater, etc.
Maramagambo Forest
The immense Maramagambo Forest, which runs west from the Katunguru-Ishaka Road almost as far the shore of Lake Edward. It is largely inaccessible to tourists, the only exception being the northeastern tip around the crater lakes Nyamasingiri and Kyasanduka. In fact, the vastness of this forest is alluded to in its name, which derives from local phrase meaning ‘the end of words’. It refers to a legend about a group of young people who got lost there many years ago and took so long to find their way out and they were unable to speak when they returned home.
Balloon safaris
The 7-10km flight takes about 1 hour, and offers a chance to see lions and other wildlife from close to the ground as well as going up high for views of the lanes, channel and Rwenzori peaks. More so, it is followed by a champagne bush breakfast. The trip costs US$380 per person with a minimum group size of two of two and space of up to 16.
