This 3 Days Lake Bunyonyi Safari Tour Uganda : takes you to Lake Bunyonyi also known as a “Place of many little birds”. It basically takes its name from the abundant birdlife that call it home. Additionally, it is the second deepest Lake in Africa after Tanganyika in Tanzania. It is also famous for its lush green terraced hills, legendary Islands and its impressive population of over 200 bird species. Besides, the Lake is one of the few lakes in Uganda that are Bilharzia free. In fact, its water is safe for swimming and it’s also free from dangerous wildlife like hippos and crocodiles. All the 6 Islands around it have got many bird species that can be enjoyed by many bird watchers while here.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast, you will be picked by one of drivers and thereafter set off for the lifetime experience in Lake Bunyonyi. Along the way, you will have a stopover at the equator for refreshments, take photos as well as buy some souvenirs. Afterwards, you will proceed to Mbarara town where you will have lunch then continue with your journey to Lake Bunyonyi, arriving late evening.

Day 2 : Community visits-Canoeing
You will have an early breakfast and later, visit the Batwa communities. While here, you will interact with them and get to know more about their daily life. Later after lunch, you will go for a canoe ride where you will be able to visit some of the Islands on this Lake. The Lake basically has got 29 Islands some of which were named according to the different bird species found on them. However, others were named after their historical backgrounds for example the Punishment Island. This is generally the smallest and was used by the Bakiga people to drop their girls who got pregnant before marriage. This was basically done as a way of punishing them. While visiting these Islands, you will also learn a lot about the people that inhabit these Islands. Later you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe
After an early morning breakfast, you will check out of your lodge and start on your journey back to Kampala/Entebbe. On your way, you will have views of the stunning landscapes and mountains. You will also have your stopover in Mbarara town for lunch then proceed with your journey arriving late evening.
