This 11 Days Uganda Primates & Wildlife Safari Experience : takes you to some of Uganda’s parks for your primate and wildlife viewing. Generally, the safari takes you to Lake Mburo National Park famous for its highest concentration of zebras. It then takes you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, with its highest population of mountain gorillas. You will then proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park which is a key attraction to the tree climbing lions. You will continue your safari to Semuliki National Park, also famous for its hot springs with different primates. The safari will continue to Kibale Forest National Park, having the highest concentration of primates in Uganda. You will conclude your safari with Murchison Falls National Park, remarkably known for its strongest water falls.
Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Equator Experience-Travel to L.Mburo National Park
After having your early morning breakfast, you will be picked by one of our drivers. Later, you will set off to Lake Mburo National Park. This park is generally Uganda’s smallest savannah park, nevertheless, the nearest to Uganda’s capital. Furthermore, it has the highest concentration of zebras. On the other hand, it has its uniqueness of the 13 lakes of which 5 are located in the park. The Park also harbors over 68 mammal species and over 315 bird species. You will have your first stopover at the Uganda Equator for the Equator moments and different equatorial experiments. Afterwards, continue with your journey to Lake Mburo National Park.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive-Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
After your breakfast, you will check out of your lodge then go for a morning game drive. During this activity, you will be able to view different animals. These include; zebras, elands, topis, oribis, impalas, waterbucks, reedbucks, hyenas etc. Later, exit the park, have lunch in Mbarara town then proceed with your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Generally, Uganda protects an estimated number of over 400 mountain gorillas which is roughly half of the world’s population. More so, the biologically diverse region also provides shelter to over 120 mammals, including several primate species as well as other animals like the elephants and antelopes.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking-Batwa Cultural Experience
After your early morning breakfast, you will be driven to the park headquarters. Before setting off to the forest, you will be briefed by the park rangers about the dos and don’ts while trekking. Later, hit the forest and start off the trekking guided by the rangers. Upon locating one of the gorilla family, you will spend 1 hour in their presence, taking photos, watching them feed etc.
Afterwards, you will head back to the park headquarters where you will be awarded with a gorilla trekking certificate. Later, return to the lodge for lunch and a power nap. In the evening you will go for the Batwa cultural experience (native culture in the forest). While here, you will get exposed to their culture & norms; dance, lifestyle as well as storytelling. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
You will have your early morning breakfast and later set off to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This park is remarkably known for its beautiful scenery, rolling hills as well as physical features which resulted from the formation of the East African Rift Valley. Besides, the key attraction in this park is the tree climbing lions in Ishasha sector. However, the park has got other interesting activities like the boat cruise, game drives, chimpanzee tracking not to mention but a few.

Day 5: Morning Game Drive-Boat Cruise
On this day, you will have an early morning breakfast and later proceed with your early morning game drive. This game drive particularly allows you to spot the early risers and nocturnal animals like the leopards as they head back to their dens. Other animals to spot include; lions, elephants, Uganda kobs, buffalos among others. Later, you will head back to the lodge for lunch before proceeding for a boat cruise at the Kazinga Channel. The boat will provide a perfect platform for viewing most of the aquatic wildlife like the hippos and crocodiles. For the bird lovers, this is also a great spot for different bird species. Later head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Transfer to Semuliki National Park-Visit the Hot springs
After having your early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to Semuliki National Park. While here, you will visit the Sempaya hot springs which are the main attractions of this park. As a matter of fact, these hot springs are the largest in Uganda and are divided into female and male. However, they both have a geyser that shoots up from 8 meters holes with a high temperature of up to 100 degrees Celsius. Besides, the strength and hotness of the springs are amazing. You can boil eggs and, in a few minutes, it is ready to eat. Afterwards, you will transfer to Fort portal town for lunch and later check in your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park-Nature walks
After having your breakfast, you will proceed with your journey to Kibale Forest National Park. This park is basically known for its highest concentration of habituated chimpanzees. However, it gives you higher chances of coming across other primates. These include black and white colobus, red tailed monkeys, olive baboons as well as blue monkeys that also call this park their home.
Later in the evening, you will head for a nature walk in Bigodi wetland sanctuary. While here, you will enjoy walking through different trails as you have beautiful views of different birds, primates as well as tree species. Later check in your booked accommodation for lunch, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Chimpanzee tracking
After your early morning breakfast, you will head to the headquarters. While here, you will be briefed about the dos and don’ts before going for your chimpanzee tracking activity. Kibale forest national park generally hosts the highest number of primates in the whole of East Africa. After the briefing, you will be led into the forest by your ranger of the day. Upon locating these chimpanzees, you will be given one hour in their presence as you enjoy their daily activities. Therefore, don’t forget to take pictures and videos of these great moments for remembrance.

Day 9: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park-Walk to the Top of the Falls
After your morning breakfast, you will start off your journey to the magnificent Murchison Falls National Park. Additionally, it is Uganda’s largest national park with lots of natural wonders. As you enter the park, you will start with your first activity which is a walk to the top of the falls. Here, the Victoria Nile water makes its way through a narrow gorge making a thunderous sound pouring downstream in the Albert Nile. Since this place is good for memorable pictures, be ready to take as many photos and videos for memories. Later you will check in your lodge for lunch, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 10: Morning Game Drive-Afternoon Boat Cruise
Having your early morning breakfast, you will go for a morning game drive with your packed lunch. While here, it will be a great time as you look out for various animal species. These include; buffalos, elephants, giraffes, lions, antelopes, oribis, Jackson’s hartebeest, spotted hyenas etc. On top of that, the park has got different bird species like the hornbills, bishops, swallows and much more. After the game drive, you will be driven direct to the dock in preparation for an afternoon boat cruise.
Later you will set off for your boat adventure and while on the cruise, you will be able to view different water animals. These include; the crocodiles, hippos and some other animals at the banks of the river as they quench their thirst. Also expect to see different bird species like the red-throated bee-eaters, kingfishers, martial eagles etc. In addition, not missing out the views of Nyamsika cliffs with their interesting historical background. Feel free to take photos and videos as you enjoy the wildlife on water. However, don’t forget to pack some snacks and drinks to enjoy while on this adventurous 3 hour’s boat cruise. You will later head back to your lodge for accommodation.

Day 11: Transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe
After your breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and start on your journey back to Kampala/Entebbe. It will be a great time as you view various animal species as you drive through the park though most of them will be seen in the grasslands feeding. You will enroute lunch in Masindi and later back on the road for a late evening arrival in Entebbe.
